What Is the Empire Network?
The Empire Network is a company that claims you can make “life changing commissions” by selling their “life changing products.” They also say that they provide “educational training products and services to online marketers and start-up, home-based and small businesses.” Is there any truth to their claims?
Does Empower Network Work? Is It Worth My Time?
Do you like paying for things that you can easily get for free? Do you enjoy putting your name and face on a business you have little to no control over? Do you like paying for inferior products when you can get high quality ones for much cheaper or free?
If you answered yes to these questions, the Empower Network is perfect for you.
However, if you don’t like paying for things that should be free, and if you don’t like scamming people out of their money, then STAY FAR AWAY from the Empower Network.
The Empower Network is an unsustainable business model that won’t bring you any success in the long run. Most multi-level marketing schemes like this will eventually crumble and you will be left behind without a penny in your pocket.
How Does the Empower Network Work? Why Is It so Bad?
The Empower Network system starts off with you purchasing their viral blogging product, which they make it seem like is the only thing you need to make lots of money. This is a monthly charge of $25.
What they don’t tell you is that you also need to pay to be an affiliate, which you need to do in order for you to make money. It costs $19.95 per month to join their affiliate program.
Not only is paying to be an affiliate ridiculous, but you also don’t get money from every sale you make. Your 1st, 3rd, and 5th sale goes to your sponsor, not you. After that, every 5th sale you make goes to your sponsor as well. With this system in place, you be working hard to make someone else rich.
If you think it stops there, it doesn’t. The sponsor who is assigned to you is supposed to “help” you reach success. However, the only thing these sponsors do are pressure you to buy thousands of dollars worth of crappy upsells that make them and other people money. This is pretty much how the Empower Network system works.
They get new people to sign up, and train them how to promote their products. When new people buy their products with your hard work, someone higher up is making a lot of money.
The Empower Network Website Looks so Good Though. It Seems like I Can Make Money without Much Effort…
The Empower Network website looks great, and has a nice video introduction with its “successful members” giving their testimonies. This video really draws you in and makes you believe that you can make money with this program.
I’m here to tell you that you won’t. DO NOT believe the hype that this video tries to build up for you.
I will give them a thumbs up for one thing…in the very beginning of the video, the founder of EN, Dave Wood says that using their products will not guarantee that you will make any money, and that you should check their average earnings disclosure on their website to see how much people earn. Then again, he might be saying it just to protect himself from the law…
Anyway, most people don’t stop the video to check their earnings disclosure. But they should, and here’s why. Take a look at the average income of their affiliates.
You’ll notice that less than 1% of all affiliates make enough to be in the top 6 of money earned with EN. Even if you put a lot of time and effort into it, you will probably not make it very far. 91% of all affiliates make $0 – 57 per YEAR.
It gets even better though.
Here’s the disclosure they have on their website:
Just in case you can’t read that clearly, the red underlined part says “The average affiliate spends between $500 and $3,000 in expenses as they build their business. Less than 4% earns sufficient commissions to cover their costs of the Empower Network products.” You can see their income disclosure statement page here.
In other words 96% of members (especially new members) will LOSE MONEY by using the Empower Network system. I’m glad they at least put this discloser on their website because I couldn’t have said it better myself.
You’ll Be Pressured to Spend Your Money
There have been many complaints from members of EN saying that their sponsors have actually resorted to calling them names and bullying them into buying the upsells.
Your sponsors want you to go “all in,” which means you’ll buy all of their upsell products. This would cost you over $5,000. Let me repeat that….OVER $5,000!
Now if these products actually provided amazing value, like educating you on how build a real online business from scratch, and teaching you long term success strategies, then it might be worth it. It does teach a few things of value, but it is definitely not worth $5,000.
A good program should teach you HOW to create a website, how to drive traffic to your website, and promote REAL products of VALUE to your customers. In essence, a good online program should teach you everything you need to know, from start to finish, on how to create a legit business online. The Empower Network does absolutely none of this.
The information found on the upsell Empower Network products on success and motivation sounds like it can be found for free….there are some amazing podcasts out there that talk about success, motivation, internet marketing…and they are free.
If You Are Sick and Tired of Scams like This…
If you are serious about making money online legitimately and effectively, my highest recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate. It is how many people, including myself, learned everything to become successful making money online. Their premium membership is less than $50 bucks a month and best of all, is you can try it out 100% for free and sign-up without a credit card.
Pros vs. Cons
- The viral blog system is easy to get off the ground for beginners.
- The overwhelming majority of Empower Network members lose money.
- You need to sell people the products you just bought (Empower Network products) to other people to make money.
- They don’t clearly explain what you will be doing to make money until after they get your money.
- Hidden costs they don’t tell you about beforehand. You have to pay at least $49.95 per month for the chance to earn any money.
- Tons of upsells that don’t teach much things of value.
- Is pretty much a pyramid scheme.
- Tons of complains from ex-members of EN.
I’ll make this short and sweet. Stay away from the Empower Network. They will scam you out of your money. Very little quality information is taught, and their products are way overpriced.
Do yourself a favor and check out the Wealthy Affiliate community. Unlike the Empower Network, Wealthy Affiliate provides quality training on making money online, and the community there will help you with any questions that you have.
